He has reported on harsh weather conditions like tornadoes, wildfires, drought, and blizzards as well as flash floods among others. However, he went to further his education and completed Mississippi State’s broadcast meteorology program

Ian worked as a GA Reporter and Weathercaster on WHOI ABC 19 based in Peoria, Illinois Area in 2006-2009. He was an evening newscaster and aggressively covered weather in the field and in the studio. However, he later joined KRQE CBS 13 team in Albuquerque, New Mexico Area as a weather forecaster till Oct 2012. He reported on bad weather across the state and delivered understandable forecasts to the community.

Ian served as a weather forecaster and Reporter for CBS 13 KOVR based in Sacramento, California Area from Oct 2012  to Dec 2015. He was the weekend weathercaster and weekday reporter and filled in on Monday through Friday meteorology shifts. Schwartz is now a morning meteorologist at CBS 13 KOVR since 2015 and loves Arizona weather from winter storms in the north to the monsoon in the south. Additionally, he loves to travel, hike, and explore the great state.
