Vic Carter is an American journalist currently working at WJZ as an anchor since 1995. Therefore. he anchors newscasts at 4, 6 & 11. He is a graduate of Morehead State University where he graduated with honors and started his career barely two days after his graduation.

He worked at various stations like WSET-TV in Lynchburg, Va., WRAL-TV in Raleigh, and N.C., WSB-TV in Atlanta Ga. Therefore, he currently works at WJZ-TV in Baltimore since 1995 where he anchors newscasts at 4, 6 & 11.

Carter’s has stood with his philosophy for three decades which is, if the story is important enough to tell, it’s important enough for him to go there and to take you with him. He has done stories from the jungles of Colombia in South America and to the dusty roads of Western Africa. Further, he has done it to communist Cuba as well as to the White House in Washington, D.C.

Additionally, Vic took viewers to the funeral of Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in Italy. Therefore, he anchored WJZ’s coverage live from Italy for six days. Besides, he participates in non-profit organizations as a volunteer to help his community.
Carter participates on the advisory committee for the Open Society Institute founded by billionaire George Soros. Also, he has been a guest lecturer at the Aspen Institute in Colorado and also was a committee chairman for the foundation that did the $120 million memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Washington, D.C.
Further, he participates as a member in the prestigious National Press Club in Washington, D.C, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as well as the National Association of Black Journalists. Besides, he is an avid collector of fine art and has donated a portion of his extensive collection to two churches. Also, he commissioned large-scale pieces of art for each location.
