Potter attended a mission trip in New Orleans where she assisted victims of Hurricane Katrina and hence her career in broadcasting was realized. Later, she worked for Houston Astros and the Houston Texans in 2010 where her love for sports and broadcasting collided. In addition, she was a six-shooter at Texas Rangers Baseball Club from August 2010 to Jan 2013 in Arlington, Texas.
