Next, she went to WKMG-TV and got a news intern role that involved writing VO’s, editing, research, and camera shooting for about 5 months. From there, she became a reporter, anchor, producer, and web producer for UCF Knightly News doing story pitching, updating websites, and story editing.
After 5 months, Amanda moved to FM 96.5 & AM 580 WDBO radio stations and served as a reporter and web producer for 1 year and 7 months. Later, she joined the 41NBC team as a reporter and anchor in Macon. There, she produced cut-in breaks, covered reports, did live-studio interviews, and handled story pitching, editing, and posting for 3 years and 4 months. Now, she is employed by WKMG-TV in Orlando, Florida as a weekend morning anchor and reporter assisting in decision-making and finding sources.
Additionally, Castro received a certification in social media from HubSpot and she volunteered in the Girls Scouts of Historic Georiga program to help coach and support young girls. She is also well conversant with video shooting, news writing, and television skills as well as speaking fluent English.
