Prior to serving WTVJ, she served in Saint Joseph, Missouri at Fox 26 KNPN-TV as a weekday morning meteorologist for two years. While there, she forecasted snowstorms in the central plains and tornado outbreaks.
Further, she co-authored a chapter in a book entitled“Climate Change and Regional/Local Responses.” To boot, she is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist via the American Meteorological Society. Although she is a scientist, she thinks the advance in drastic weather has spotlighted a need for more educated voices in the broadcast meteorology field.

The document series “Unprecedented: A Climate Check Special Series” contrasted the wildfires to the dangers climate change may cause to South Florida. As a result of the program, she earned a Telly Award.
