Gordon is originally from Chicago where he started all of his work. First, he worked for the Big Ten Network as a student sideline reporter. After, he became an official reporter for WTIU from January to May 2011. Then he went to WVII/WFVX in Bangor to be the morning news anchor and reporter in 2011. Additionally, he worked as an intern reporter for Fox National News in New York City. There he covered a live sports segment on Fox and Friends and managed 160 interns with editing time for the network.

Clay also won the 2012 Spot News Award for a story he did involving 2 dead infants called “Infant Death”. After working at WVII/WFVX for 3 years, he joined WMBD news in Peoria, Illinois as the morning and noon news anchor. There, he was responsible for writing reviews and delivering scripts on air.

Then in 2017, he went to 10TV, where he is currently working as a weekend anchor and reporter. Besides that, he spends some of his time as a firefighter and EMT in Holden, Maine. Moreover, he is actively involved with the community and he loves to read books to children.
