Sandoval has survived cancer. He was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2014, and he battled the disease for about a year before fully recovering. On October 31, 2015, Sandoval posted a story on his Facebook handle in which he detailed the details of his life-threatening illness and the difficulties he faced while battling it.
He also uploaded a few images from his treatment below the story. The post says that he found out about the disease on Halloween night in 2014. In the same story, he also said that his mother died of cancer and that his father has survived cancer twice. So, following the diagnosis, the Lymphoma research center at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) collaborated with Sandoval’s doctors on his treatment.
