Tripp works for NBC 7, San Diego as an anchor and a reporter for NBC 7’s weekday evening newscasts. Also, he serves on NBC 7 SportsWrap Sundays. He joined the NBC 7 team in January 2019. Prior to San Diego, he served at KREM 2 in Spokane, Washington as sports director. While there, he supervised the overall broadcast and strategic direction of their sports team.
To boot, he produced, shot, edited, wrote, and anchored for the station. In 2018, he secured an Edward R. Murrow Award for Sports Reporting: ‘Zag Climber Revenge.’ Additionally, some of the spotlights of his coverage have been six NCAA tournaments and broadcasting the Seattle Seahawks throughout various NFL Playoff games and two Super Bowls. Also, he followed Washington State to San Diego for end-to-end Holiday Bowl features.
When he is not anchoring ad reporting sports, he enjoys checking out San Diego’s great restaurants with his fiancé. Else, he loves playing bad golf and vaguely better pickup basketball.
