Wilson began working for WHO-TV 13 in Des Moines as a weekday reporter and weekend meteorologist in September 1988. He then rose to the position of co-anchor of the Noon show and noon and 5 PM meteorologist and for the past 17 years, he has served as Channel 13’s Chief Meteorologist. In addition, Wilson also has the first-hand experience necessary to accurately predict one of the nation’s most diverse climates as a result of growing up in Iowa and forecasting Iowa weather for the previous 25 years.

For the initial 30 hours, Ed remained on the radio and they provided live updates on one of the largest stories ever affecting Des Moines. The first week of coverage was covered by WHO TV without any commercial interruptions.
