Before understanding that public speaking and telling people’s stories was her true calling, she was studying opera, musical theater, and music education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She began her broadcasting career as an intern at WAND, in Decatur, Illinois, and at WTTW, the PBS station in Chicago. She also worked for the college TV station as a reporter and anchor.
Erica worked as a reporter and weekend evening anchor at WSBT in South Bend, Indiana, for almost four years before moving to Wisconsin. She is drawn to crime and court cases, and she broke important news in the Indiana-Michigan region, such as the arrest in the double murder case in Delphi, Indiana, and the untimely death of U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. Following overdoses and fatalities at Praxis Landmark Recovery, Erica oversaw a month-long inquiry project during which she learned that the nationwide firm had seen the same occurrences in other states and cities.
Growing up in Woodstock, Illinois, Erica frequently traveled to Lake Geneva to see family and attend many Summerfest concerts. Erica is a metalhead and lover of classical music and is thrilled by the amazing bands that will be touring Southeastern Wisconsin. She enjoys going to the gym, trying out new dishes at neighborhood eateries, and visiting relatives in Waukesha County when she isn’t working.
