About ten years ago, Erica entered the FOX 2 newsroom as an excited intern eager to learn. Her interest was and still is in news reporting and storytelling. She has felt that way ever since she first read the morning announcements at Holland, Michigan’s West Ottawa High School. Erica was fortunate to have known at such an early age what she wanted to pursue. Giving voice to the voiceless and performing, whether through dancing or singing, were ingrained in her soul.

After graduating, Erica was hired at WXMI, the FOX 17 affiliate in Grand Rapids as a full-time general assignment reporter before being quickly elevated to morning and noon anchor. Following a four-year tenure in the Midwest covering everything from tragedy to triumph, including the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the journey continued to Nashville, Tennessee. In June 2019, Erica joined the WKRN news crew as a reporter and co-anchor of the 4:00 p.m. newscasts, specializing in Nashville’s development and its associated growing pains. When she wasn’t talking real estate, she was at the CMA Awards speaking with Luke Combs or Garth Brooks.

Erica returned to FOX 2 nine years after her internship, but this time it’s for real. After all these years, she is proud to have won an Edward R. Murrow award for co-anchoring breaking news coverage from Nashville, Tennessee, a Michigan Association of Broadcasters award, a Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, and numerous Emmy nominations for her writing and reporting. Erica is happy to be back home in Michigan being a reporter and anchor in one of the top news towns in the nation. She’s already been welcomed with open arms and so much kindness by all of you. She’s thankful for that and feels really content.
