He developed a passion for broadcast journalism while working as the on-air morning announcer at Cadillac High School in northern Michigan. After graduating, Evan worked as an anchor and reporter for the live, student-run newscast at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, where he studied broadcast and cinematic arts.
Evan began his broadcasting career working as a reporter at 9&10 News in his hometown of Cadillac. Following two years of reporting for the station, Evan moved on to become the lead anchor of the morning show on 9&10 News. During his tenure there, he received multiple accolades from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for his investigative reporting.
Evan moved an hour and a half south to WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after working as the anchor desk reporter at 9&10 News for two years. For four years, Evan worked as a general assignment reporter and the weekend morning anchor for WOOD TV8. He moved to Fort Myers and joined the Waterman Broadcasting team in 2019 after deciding it was time for a warmer environment after spending his entire life up north.
Evan loves to hang out with his wife Ashleigh, who works as a school counselor for Collier County Public Schools, in his free time. As a lifetime hockey player, Evan is a die-hard supporter of the Detroit Red Wings. He also loves the Detroit Lions, even though over the course of his life, that team has caused him considerably more grief than happiness.
