In August 1990, an F5 tornado devastated his hometown, Plainfield situated in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. His love for colder weather began at a young age, as his upbringing in the Midwest was marked by frequent and bitterly severe winters. After relocating to the Dallas metropolitan area Jackson had the chance to experience different types of weather in an area where tornadoes and heavy thunderstorms were more frequent.
Jackson began his career in broadcasting in northeastern Mississippi while working as a part-time Meteorologist at WCBI-TV in Columbus, MS. He put up a lot of hours covering anything from Daybreak shows to significant tornado outbreaks for almost two years. Jackson enjoys working out, hiking, skiing, and rooting for his Aggies, Dawgs, and Canucks when he’s not predicting the weather. Make sure to wave at him if you see him in public!
