Previously, Jared worked as a sports reporter, anchor, and photographer at WRAL TV 5 in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. Before that, he was hired in the same capacity at WLOS-TV, WOWK-TV, and WVNS-TV.

Fialko graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications only a few weeks after Carmelo Anthony, Gerry McNamara, and the Orange won an NCAA National Championship. After winning, his first thought was to get a camera and document the celebration, he knew this was his calling.
Fialko began his broadcasting career as a Sports Director at WVNS-TV in Beckley, West Virginia. Afterward, he joined WOWK-TV in West Virginia serving as a Sports reporter, anchor, and photographer. Fialko then moved to Asheville, where he was hired at WLOS-TV as a Sports reporter, anchor, and photographer. In December 2012, he was hired in the same capacity at Wral TV 5 in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. He spent 8 years there, before moving to WISN 12 News in June 2022
Throughout his career, he got to sit baseline for fifteen Duke vs. UNC basketball games (always choose the Cameron Indoor venue for the better vibe), cover Cam Newton and the Panthers’ journey to Super Bowl 50, accompany the Canes on their quest for the Stanley Cup, and visit various NCAA Tournament locations and bowl games across the nation.
