Upon joining the station, he initially served as a port and news anchor and reporter. Additionally, he provided coverage for many high school football teams throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Moreover, he shot the games and fluctuated the spotlights for a local cable channel. Also, he served as a play-by-play for California University athletics. During the 2000 elections, his passion shifted to the news. To boot, he managed operations for a radio news operation in Pittsburgh for two years. Each night, he served from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. where he wrote, edited, and anchored newscasts for multiple stations.
Furthermore, he provided coverage for some Pittsburgh Pirates games for a sports radio station. Later, he went on to serve in upstate New York at Time Warner’s 24-hour news operation in Syracuse. While there, he anchored, reported, and broadcasted high school football. Additionally, he served at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh for 6 years. He was employed as a traffic reporter and later promoted to the anchor desk.
Also, he served as a co-host of the Pittsburgh Steelers pre-game show with Hines Ward, Ryan Clark, and Antwaan Randle-El. And, he did interlude reports for Pittsburgh Penguins preseason games. Further, he broadcasted two Super Bowl parades, the 2011 Winter Classic between the Pens and Caps, one Stanley Cup parade, and the 2006 Major League Baseball All-Star game.
In 2011, he left Pittsburgh for Boston, where he served WCVB-TV as a news and sports anchor and reporter. Further, he was one of the key anchors on air when the bombs went off at the Boston Marathon finish line and telecasted the city’s comeback. For days, he reported the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Superstorm Sandy, a record-setting winter, the Red Sox winning a World Series, and the Patriots winning a Super Bowl.
Additionally, he broadcasted the Patriots losing a Super Bowl and Deflategate. To boot, he had his own series where he profiled top-notch high school seniors battling back from life challenges.
