John is always excited to cover stories highlighting special moments in someone’s life. He vividly remembers In 2008, he reported on a soldier coming home from Iraq and surprising his daughter at her volleyball game. In addition, he also covered Minnesota’s only poisonous snake population in the southeastern and was not bitten in the process.
Lauritsen started his career at KSAX-TV in Alexandria, Minn., and thereafter moved to Waterloo, Iowa, at KWWL-TV. John joined Channel 12 in Brooklyn Park, Minn., prior to reporting at WCCO-TV.
