Her work as anchor and host of the KPIX Saturday morning program earned her the title of Best News Anchor by the Associated Press, and during her tenure there, she was honored with the American Meteorological Society’s renowned “Excellence in Science Reporting by a Broadcast Meteorologist” award.
Julie received her meteorology credentials (AMS Seal) from the American Meteorological Society and worked at KCRA 3 in Sacramento prior to that. She hosted the “KCRA Noon Show Live from the Arden Fair Mall,” where she discussed anything from cookery segments to scary animals in addition to the weather for the weekend.
Julie was a national host of TLC’s “Designing Spaces” and worked in Los Angeles for BBC & Reuters-TV as an entertainment reporter/ producer. As a reporter, traffic anchor, and weather anchor, Watts began her career in media at CBS-47 in Fresno. She also voiced the traffic and morning news for the Central Valley’s Clear Channel radio stations.
