She began her broadcasting career as a news anchor/reporter for KETK-NBC News and Fox51 News in Tyler, Texas. She joined the station as a weekend news anchor and reporter and after a year she was promoted to the station’s evening news anchor.
Katie moved to the state capital after three years in The Piney Woods. She works as the nightside reporter for FOX 7 Austin (KTBC). Katie regularly contributes to the weekday evening newscasts. She covers a variety of local news topics in Central Texas, such as breaking news, criminal activity, and community issues. Additionally, she has been a host for Austin NOW, and regularly highlights the top headlins on The Texas News Show.
Katie is a Texas girl at heart. She still loves riding her horse, Cajun, even if she is no longer a barrel racer. She also likes to go deer hunting and fishing. On the weekends, Katie likes to go on walks with her dog Bronx, work out at the gym, or enjoy some delicious Tex-Mex.
