Mitchell interned at WCCO-TV in 2015 for four months in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While there she served by assisting at the assignment desk and shadowed reporters and producers all day long.. Fortunately, she rejoined the same team as a reporter in November of 2021. Prior to that, Kirsten was a full time weekend anchor, and reporter at KSEE24/CBS47. She covered breaking news, crime and wildfires and wrote stories for the website.

Kirsten was also lucky to gain even more experince with WMBB between 2017 and 2019 as a Multimedia Journalist in Panama City, Florida Area. She wrote many stories in aday and covered Hurricane Michael among others. Additionally, Mitchell joined KARE 11 in Jan 2017 as aq news inter for seven months. There, she was able to operate teleprompter for the morning show and shadowed reporters on their stories, re-packaging them as practice.

For three months Kirsten worked in Chicago, Illinois as a Creative Services Intern where she helped in writing and editing news promotional videos. Further, she volunteered at PAWS Chicago managing and caring for dogs available for adoption. Also, Mitchell has actively volunteered at Abbott Northwestern Hospital by supporting pre-operative patient families.

In addition, she helps in the implementatins of hospital protocols relating to families in high stress situations.  Mitchell is well skilled in teamwork, social media, and broadcast journalism among others. Besides, she loves hiking and running. Kirsten explores upcoming restaurants around town and above all spends quality time with her family.
