Matt Salemme is an American journalist working at WISN 12 News as a photojournalist and helicopter reporter for “12 News This Morning.” He also does early evening reports from the chopper. Matt has been working with the network since January 1998. Previously, he worked as an airborne reporter for WBBM-AM 780 in Chicago. Before that, he worked as a weekend news anchor for WLS-AM 890 in Chicago.

Salemme is an American journalist working at WISN 12 News as a Traffic reporter for “12 News This Morning.” He joined WISN 12 News in January 1998 and throughout the last ten years, he has contributed to some of the greatest stories. Matt was the first person on the scene when the crane at Miller Park collapsed. He also participated in the award-winning coverage of the explosion at Falk Corp and was above the Patrick Cudahy facility when the roof caught fire again. He even had the opportunity to shoot aerials for a Monday Night Football match at Lambeau Field.
Prior to moving to Milwaukee, Matt spent two years as an airborne reporter for WBBM-AM 780 in Chicago, one year and a half as a weekend news anchor for WLS-AM 890 in Chicago, and one year as a stand-in airborne reporter for Fox 32 in Chicago. Matt said that he enjoys Milwaukee’s people, despite having grown up in the Chicago suburbs. “They seem more friendly and laid back than other places I’ve been,” he added. He enjoys riding his bike and playing sports like football, video games, or park activities with his children when he has free time.
