Additionally, Smith serves as executive producer and co-host of “UPFRONT,” WISN-TV’s Sunday morning public affairs.

Smith began his broadcasting career as an anchor, reporter, and producer at KBJR-TV in Duluth. After that, he was hired as an anchor and political and investigative reporter at  WBAY-TV in Green Bay. He spent seven years there, before moving to CBS4 and FOX 59 in Indianapolis, where he was hired as an anchor and reporter. Afterward, he joined WISN 12 News in March 2019.

Smith has been covering politics for almost twenty years, spending over ten of those years in Wisconsin. He consistently breaks stories that have national ramifications and generates national news about Wisconsin politics thanks to his unmatched political reporting.
