Michael Thomas Gorman is an American sports reporter for NBC Sports Boston. Gorman and Fran Fraschilla provided play-by-play for NBC for the 2016 Summer Olympics’ basketball competitions. Paul Pierce, one of Gorman’s favorite players, was among the 2021 class of inductees into the media wing of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Gorman also received the 2021 Curt Gowdy Award.

WNBH in New Bedford and WPRO in Providence is where Gorman started his radio career while he was a US Navy aviator (1970–1975). He was the voice of the University of Rhode Island on WPRO, the play-by-play announcer for Providence College on television, and the sports director for WPRI.
Gorman served as ESPN’s principal analyst for “Big Monday” Big East Game of the Week in the 1980s. He has worked as a broadcaster for the NCAA basketball tournament on CBS, tennis at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona on NBC with Bud Collins, the NBA Playoffs on TBS, handball at the London Summer Olympics in 2012, and men’s basketball at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics in 2016.
