Ryan Ermanni Career
Ryan is an American journalist working at WJBK/ FOX 2 Detroit as the co-host of The Nine. He first joined FOX 2 in May 1999, working as an intern in the Sports department. Ryan has always been passionate about sports as he can remember. Working in sports television was something he had always wanted to do although he never really believed it would be a reality. After realizing he would not be a professional athlete, he decided he needed to be “realistic” about what he would do with his life after graduating from the University of Michigan. During his time at Michigan, he came to the realization that he had to do something he enjoyed for a job. After securing an internship at Fox 2, the rest was history.
Ryan learned everything he could that summer—without even taking a broadcasting or journalism class—and after graduating, he got his first job at Cadillac, Michigan’s 9 and 10 News. His next stop after a year in Cadillac was the Fox station in Toledo, Ohio. After that, he was employed full-time in the sports division of FOX 2 in 2003, and he has remained here ever since. In his tenure, he has covered nearly every major sporting event held in this country, including the World Series, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup championship, NBA Finals, Final Four, Ryder Cup, and more.
Ryan Ermanni Achievements
Ryan got the chance to work on a variety of non-sports-related projects while he was employed in the sports department (i.e. work in the news department). He always just found the morning program to be something he enjoyed in particular. There were lots of grins and chuckles, and overall, the forum was quite appropriate for him (all he truly wants to do in life is laugh and have fun). Ryan made the switch to morning news in May of 2016! first working as a feature reporter before swiftly settling in as co-host of “The Nine.” A popular late-morning chat program in Detroit that is funny, insightful, and educational above all. He is so grateful to be able to spend every morning in your homes!
Ryan isn’t your typical newsman. He enjoys displaying his personality and responding to stories as though he were watching at home. On the show, they make light of the fact that he is “a man of the people.” But it’s true—he genuinely thinks of himself as one of you! With Ryan, you get what you see.
