Scott developed a strong interest in meteorology from an early age while growing up in Valparaiso, Indiana. He began his career as a broadcast intern at WFLA in Tampa, Florida, and WGN in Chicago.
After that, he was hired as a weather forecaster at the ABC affiliate in Sioux City, Lowa. He spent twelve years there, five of which he held the Chief Meteorologist position. Throughout his time in Siouxland, Scott reported on multiple blizzards, derechos, and extreme weather occurrences affecting northwest Iowa, northeast Nebraska, and southeast South Dakota.
Additionally, Scott played a crucial role in an Emmy-winning newscast that covered a bomb cyclone that caused historic floods in March 2019. He holds the seal approval #865 from The American Meteorological Society. When he is not working, Scott likes to play video games, go on walks with his Goldendoodle Winston, and spend time with his family.
