Sparks studied at Palm Desert High School. She later joined the University of Southern California, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism while focusing on sports media. Her experience in journalism dates back to when she was still at the University. She did her internship at NBC News, Spectrum News 1 SoCal, and FOX Sports, some of the leading stations in California.
In addition, she also served as a Multimedia Journalist for USC Annenberg Media, the award-winning student-run news organization, during her university education. She was responsible for shooting, writing, reporting broadcast stories, and reporting live in the field and in the studio.
Sylvie later joined Annenberg TV News in Los Angeles as a sports anchor from January 2020 to May 2020.
