He began his career at WOOD TV8 serving as an editor and photojournalist for Weekend Daybreak. He subsequently switched to the other side of the camera and started reporting for Weekend Daybreak. Later, he moved on to News 8 Daybreak during the week. Since then, Tom has worked almost every shift, but he ultimately returned to Daybreak as the first-ever traffic anchor at News 8.
Tom switched from anchoring News 8 at Noon to co-hosting the leisure program “eightWest” with Rachael Ruiz in the fall of 2023. Before joining WOOD TV, he worked as an anchor for News Central 34 at Michigan State University. Despite having graduated from CMU, Tom loves Michigan State and has had the privilege of covering the Spartans in both the 2013 Big Ten Football Championship and the NCAA basketball tournament.
In addition, Tom covered the World Series for the Detroit Tigers and reported from Florida during Tropical Storm Debby. He is an avid traveler who has visited over a dozen foreign countries and all 50 states in the country. Additionally, Tom is a proud member of West Michigan’s vibrant Polish culture.
