Tony Geftos has won the Emmy award two times. He is an American journalist working at WTVG-TV in Toledo Ohio, Area as an anchor and reporter since June 2000. Therefore, he is a senior reporter and Co-Anchor of 13abc Action News Weekend Mornings.
Geftos anchors alongside Christina Williams every Saturday and Sunday from 6:00-8:00 AM and again from 9:00-10:00 AM. Tony and Tina teamed up on the anchor desk in 2011 and led the newscast to Emmy nominations five years in a row, winning “Best Weekend Newscast Market 41+” for the broadcast year 2016 in June 2017.
Additionally, he has been an adjunct instructor at The University of Toledo since 2012 where he does communication Practices and Principles, Television Production I, and Media Writing, and is a former president of the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors (2018-19). Geftos schooled Riverview Community High School which is about 40 minutes north of Toledo in downriver Detroit.
