2008 saw Valerie Boey join the team of FOX 35 News. She is a multimedia expert and award-winning journalist who specializes in breaking news. Besides being a general assignment reporter, Valerie also covers a wide range of topics, including crime being included and features. She occasionally appears on FOX News as well and has drawn attention from throughout the country for its ongoing coverage of events like George Zimmerman and Casey Anthony.
Valerie previously worked for WTSP-TV, the Tampa/St. Petersburg CBS station. She successfully established the Tallahassee Bureau for WTSP-TV and WTLV-TV, the Jacksonville NBC station, while as a political correspondent.
Additionally, Valerie contributed articles to newspapers like Florida Today and the Fort Myers News-Press. Her role was expanded to include all websites and stations owned by Gannett. Later, she relocated to Tampa’s main newsroom to work as a general assignment reporter.
The first job Valerie ever had was at WINK (CBS) in Fort Myers. She was employed as a producer and assignment editor. Later, she was elevated to become the Collier County Bureau Chief in Naples after working as a weekend reporter. Valerie received her degree from New York University. Valerie worked as an intern at NBC Nightly News in New York while in college.
