Fisher covered the KU men’s basketball team in 2018 and 2019. This was during NCAA Tournament, both in San Antonio, TX, and Salt Lake City, UT. The 2018 KU men’s basketball team was in the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. He produced a three-minute weekly sports segment and created packages as well as interviewing several coaches and players.
While at the University of Kansas, Fisher covered sports and got the opportunity to go to the Final Four in San Antonio. This was in 2018 and he watched the Jayhawks beaten by Villanova. He also covered the team in the 2019 March Madness Tournament in Salt Lake City.
Missouri Western State University was glad to host the Kansas City Chiefs training camp during the year that they won the Super Bowl at St. Joseph MO and he bought a copy of Madden 20 with Patrick Mahomes on the cover.
Fisher’s love for journalism began when he was cut from the basketball team in his second year of high school. He reported on all the basketball games. He also anchored the school news a few times a week.
