Makayla Clark Career

Makayla has been working with Alaska’s News Source in her hometown of Anchorage, Alaska since September 2020. While in college, Makayla worked as a producer, multimedia journalist and anchor for NAZ Today Northern Arizona’s only local TV news station. She worked her way up through management positions. She lead the newsroom as the student news director, as well as the assistant student news director and photography manager. Makayla has also worked with the Lumberjack NAU’s student newspaper.

She was recently nominated for a Northwest Regional Emmy for a newscast she produced in September 2021. During her time at NAZ Today, Makayla produced and anchored an award-winning show after her professors had tasked her with re-innovating the show. Clark also got second place in an NPPA student multimedia competition for a story she filmed at the Grand Canyon. While at KTVA 11 News and Alaska’s News Source, Makayla produced newscasts that earned second and third place for best newscast in the Alaska Press Club awards.
