In 1993, Holley was one of several reporters who worked on a project examining racial relations in Northeastern Ohio while employed at the Akron Beacon Journal. “A Question of Color,” a television series, was awarded the 1994 Pulitzer Prize for Meritorious Public Service. From 1997 to 2001 as well as from 2002 to 2005, Holley worked as a reporter and columnist for the Boston Globe. He also worked for the Chicago Tribune.
As Bob Neumeier’s replacement as co-host of the WEEI midday sports radio talk show, Holley left the Globe in 2005.
