Who is Allie Berube?

Allie Berube is an award-winning journalist working at WHTM/ABC 27 News as a Sports Director based in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. She has been working with the network since June 2018. Previously, she worked as a Sports anchor and reporter at our affiliate station WDVM/DC News Now in Hagerstown, MD. Before that, Berube worked as an anchor and reporter for Syracuse University’s NCC News. She was also an intern at WJLA-TV in Washington, DC.

Berube was born and raised in the United States by her parents. Her father passed away on July 29, 2019, after battling Stage IV Colorectal Cancer for 8 years. As a result, Berube worked with her doctor to arrange for a colonoscopy at age 26 in order to have that peace of mind. Berube says that her mom, sister, and brother had been very strong through everything. Even though each of them had experienced grief in a different way, they were nevertheless able to help one another get through one of the hardest decades of their lives. Additionally in August 2023, Berube shared a post on her Twitter saying that she had lost her grandmother who was 81 years old. She praised her grandmother for having loved fiercely and being their family’s pillar of strength.

Berube has been happily married to the love of her life since October 2020. She had her dream wedding on her grandmother’s farm in Massachusetts. She says that her father blessed them with two 70-degree days in mid-October in Massachusetts. Allie Berube Career

Berube is an award-winning journalist working at WHTM/ABC 27 News as a Sports Director. She first joined the network as a sports anchor, reporter, and content creator. In April 2022, she was promoted to the Sports Director position. Allie’s greatest love is sharing the triumphant and difficult stories of our local athletes. She recently launched ABC27 Sports’ inaugural “Like a Girl” series, which highlights female athletes.

She began her broadcasting career as a Sports intern at WJLA-TV in Washington D.C. Additionally, Allie worked as a reporter for Syracuse University Athletics while she was a student, covering 18 Division I teams and coordinating closely with Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Cuse Football. Berube also worked as an anchor and reporter for Newhouse School, Syracuse University’s NCC News.

After graduating, Allie was hired as a sports anchor/reporter at our sister station WDVM in Hagerstown, Md. She covered teams and athletes in the four-state area, including six professional organizations, the University of Maryland and six other NCAA schools, and more than sixty high school teams. Allie enjoys cooking with her family, trying out new fitness programs, doing DIY projects, and watching all sporting events when she’s not reporting.
