Jolles began his professional journey in journalism as a research assistant at NASA in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the United States, where he did evaluation and presentation of findings for about 4 months. Then, he became a senator of the University of South Carolina Student Government in Columbia, South Carolina. There, he passed legislation and did representation for 8 months. He also served as a peer leader at the University of South Carolina teaching students and promoting discussions for over 1 year. Next, he got a production internship opportunity at Atrium Health Seacrest Studios at Levine Children’s Hospital where he was in-charge of managing the social media platforms for 5 months.

Ward also worked at Homeless No More in Columbia, South Carolina, the USA as a communications department intern doing distribution and discussing development strategies for about 3 months. From there, he went to WUSC FM Columbia and got a role as a host, producer, and news director conducting interviews which lasted for about an year. Next, he became a part-time digital content producer at WACH FOX and did his duties and responsibilities under his supervisors. After 7 months, he got a multimedia position at Carolina News and Reporter  where he served for about 4 months.

Later, he joined the WKOW-ABC 27 news team in Madison, Wisconsin and served as a full-time reporter and fill in anchor for over 2 years.
