Prior to joining KXLYthe KTVK team, she worked as a news reporter at KXLY in Spokane, Washington for four months. In addition, she also worked at KTVL-News Channel 10 as a news anchor for four years. Here, she produced and anchored weekday morning/evening newscasts. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona and Mississippi State University where she earned a degree in Journalism and Meteorology respectively.

April started her career in television at the CBS affiliate she met her husband, Mark McClune, a sports anchor at the same station. April and Mark later moved to Spokane, WA for a television job, and they worked at competing stations before April convinced him that sunny & warm Arizona is where they should be. Warnecke enjoys Arizona’s monsoon season and remembers watching dust storms roll into town when she was a little girl in the East Valley.
