Before joining the WCTV team Kaplan worked as a sports anchor and sports director as well as a reporter at KXLY for four years and eight months in Spokane, Washington Area. At KXYL, he received nominations for a Regional Emmy for his series on individuals using sports to overcome personal and physical obstacles. Additionally, Ben was a sports anchor and reporter for ABC 7 WWSB-TV in Sarasota, Florida Area from 2007 to 2008. This is where he produced, anchored, and edited three four-minute sportscasts plus a 10-minute sportscast on Sunday night.
Kaplan actively participates in community affairs like fundraising organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and can’t wait to be involved in the Big Bend Area. Also, he is a fan of big Cubs and enjoys watching a football game at Florida State. Besides, he loves the Tallahassee area with its trees and greenery.
