 Loftus has won several Emmy Awards. He is currently the Anchor of the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts at 8 News Now. Brian joined the team in 2009 as Morning Traffic Anchor. He then worked as the Morning Anchor on “Good Day” in 2014, and Evening Anchor in early 2018.

Loftus worked at the Los Angeles radio on weekends at KLSX (97.1 FM Talk) in 2002 as the Producer/Writer. He was also part of the on-air personalities of “The Film Freak Show.”

Brian started TV broadcasting in 2007 when he was a Feature Reporter for KMPH-TV (FOX) in Fresno. He covered  the popular, five-hour morning show, “Great Day.”

From 2009-2014, Loftus anchored a daily segment known as “What’s Driving You Crazy,” which helped solve traffic problems that troubled viewers. He has been broadcasting “What’s Cool at School,” every week which highlights positive programs in local schools since 2014. This has made him win the NASB Media Award.

For the past four years, Brian has also hosted and anchored the highly rated New Year’s Eve Countdown Show from the Las Vegas Strip, which is seen live in 12 cities, and for which he won an Emmy in 2017 for Special Events Coverage.

Brian has interviewed local leaders including Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Sheriff Joe Lombardo, performers and comedians, musicians like Carlos Santana, Rascal Flatts, and Guns N’ Roses, and also the Golden Knights from Washington D.C. in the 2018 Stanley Cup Final.

You would find Brian at the studio training as a Gondolier at The Venetian, drumming with the Blue Man Group, or singing and dancing with “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert.

During his free time, you would find Loftus swimming, biking, hiking, and reading.
