Shafer is an award-winning journalist working at Newsnation as a National Correspondent based in Miami, Florida. She began her broadcasting career as an intern at WTVJ – NBC6 in Miami Florida. In January 2014, Shafer landed a TV host and reporter position at FOX Sun Sports in Tallahassee, Florida. After that, she moved to WCJB TV20 in Gainesville, Florida, where she worked as weekend anchor, reporter, and editor of the 6 pm and 11 pm newscasts.
In April 2017, Brooke was hired as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Florida. From there, she joined WFOR | CBS as a reporter based in Miami, Florida. She worked for the network for 2 years before joining Newsnation in May 2022. In her years of reporting, Brooke has traveled across the nation to cover national news stories, including the hurricanes Ian, Michael, Irma, and Dorian, as well as the mass killings at schools in Parkland, Florida, and Uvalde, Texas.
