Miller is also a radio play-by-play announcer on the Detroit Lions Radio Network. Previously, Miller worked as a weekend sports anchor at WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington, DC. Before that, he was hired as host of the Washington Redskins pre-game show at WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C.

He joined the network in 1997 working as an on-air personality and sports director. Miller’s voice can also be heard announcing during The Ford Lions Report, a program that airs statewide in Michigan, when Lions highlights clips are shown. In addition, Miller frequently makes an appearance via satellite to talk about the Lions on NFL GameDay Morning, an NFL Network pregame program, in the “Word on the Street” segment.
Following his high school graduation, Miller secured a position as an engineer for the weekend sportscasts at Mutual Radio Network affiliates WJLA and WTEM. Miller was questioned about his ability to edit audio tapes during the employment interview. He lied and said he could. He held the position for 11 years. In 1992, he was hired at the Washington, D.C.’s WTNT (“Sports Radio 570”) as an overnight talk show presenter and Washington Redskins beat reporter. His tenure was limited to three months.
He began his on-air career in 1994 as the Washington Redskins pre-game show host at WTTG. After that, he was hired in 1995 as a weekend sports anchor at WJLA-TV in Washington D.C. Before coming to Detroit, Miller was a play-by-play announcer for NFL on Fox’s regional broadcasts. Miller is a part of the Detroit Sports Media, originally known as the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association founded in 1948 by the esteemed Detroit Tigers broadcaster Ty Tyson. Additionally, Miller won 2004’s “Best Local TV Sportscaster” award from the Detroit Free Press. Miller received the 2013 Ty Tyson Award from Detroit Sports Media for his excellence in sports broadcasting.
