Eric is mostly in charge of growing and tending to the hay, while his family breeds and produces beef cattle. Eric currently works at AC 27 News as the Chief Meteorologist for the weekday evening newscasts at 5, 6, 7, and 11 p.m. He spends most of his time on the family farm, which is close to his hometown of Duncannon. He became interested in meteorology because his experience on the farm had shown him the value of detailed, local weather forecasts. Soon after graduating, Eric began working with veteran weathercaster Chuck Rhodes. Chuck was an inspiration to Eric from a young age, therefore it was an honor for Eric to work with him throughout the first five years of his career.
Since joining ABC 27, Eric has received several awards. Recently, he received an Emmy for best weather anchor—from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television, Arts, and Sciences in 2022! He also won Reader’s Choice and Simply the Best Weather Personality awards from Harrisburg Magazine, as well as Best Weathercasts from the Pennsylvania Associated Press, throughout the years.
In addition, Eric is a National Weather Association member and seal holder. When he is not working, Eric is tending to the fields on the Perry County 5th-generation family farm. Additionally, when he is not working, he spends his free time with his wife and children in his backyard, at a nearby stream, or deep in the woods.
