In 1998, Kiernan worked as an anchor for weekend news at KCCI. She was so fortunate, to become renowned following her investigative work and special series pieces which won her awards. In 2004, Erin received another regional Edward R. Murrow award. This was after successfully making a series on date rape drugs. In 2000, she was lucky to have been honored with a regional Murrow Award. This was after a successful series known as “True Colors,” where her focus was on racism at bars in Des Moines metro. Erin has as well covered investigative series reports on various key areas including ecstasy, meth, sex offenders, arson, identity theft, and unlicensed drivers.
