Policastro started her career at Associated Press as a Television and Radio producer from May 2006 to January 2007 in Washington D.C Metro Area. Here, she produced and turned content for the Online Video Network covering international, national, and local DC news. In addition, she worked as Washington Bureau Chief and Correspondent for more than one year. She covered Congress and the White House for KHON2 Honolulu and WENY-TV Elmira, NY as well as WSEE-TV Erie, PA.

Jacqueline later shifted to Lilly Broadcasting Erie, PA WSEETV anchor and producer of weekday live 11 pm newscast and co-anchored weekday live 6 pm newscast. However, she joined WISH-TV as a daybreak news reporter and anchor before rejoining Lilly Broadcasting Erie, PA as a Washington Bureau Chief from 2012-2014.
