James continued working in radio after graduating for a little while, working for a local radio station as their Sports Reporter. During that time, he was lucky to have attended interviews at Jack Nicklaus, Tony Stewart, and Urban Meyer. Thereafter, he started working a combination of three jobs but his main job was as an Editor for WSYX in Columbus. In addition, he also became a seasonal announcer for a racetrack called National Trail Raceway; and started announcing for pro wrestling organizations around the buckeye state.
James’s first job as a Multimedia Journalist was at WVVA in Bluefield, West Virginia, where he worked for a year. During that time in Bluefield, he covered a visit by President Trump, and also he became the first journalist to go through a day of training with the State Police and toured the largest division of the FBI.
James is very excited about having joined the Wyoming News Now family team, and this is his first time living west of the Mississippi River. McDowell loves watching sports, going to church, playing video games, and going out to eat whenever off duty.
