Jessica is an American journalist working as a weeknight and weekend reporter at WJBK/FOX 2 Detroit. It had always been her dream to work for the news station she grew up watching in metro Detroit. Jessica has been fortunate enough to work in our stunning state for her whole journalistic career. She is really grateful to be a member of the FOX 2 family and feels privileged to share YOUR stories.
Jessica began her career in broadcasting as a “one-man band” reporter for the FOX/CBS affiliate in Cadillac, Michigan, after graduating from Michigan State University. That’s when she discovered that covering news is not an easy job, but it is definitely worthwhile. She was transferred to the anchor desk to host the four-and-a-half-hour morning program “Michigan This Morning” after paying her dues.
Jessica was most recently employed as a crime reporter by WJRT, the ABC affiliate in Flint, MI. She began amid the height of the water crisis in the city. Throughout her three-year tenure at the station, she covered topics about water. She says that it was an eye-opening experience. During a very difficult period for the city, Jessica managed to win the community’s trust. She will always cherish the city and its wonderful residents. During her time in Flint covering the water crisis, she won multiple accolades, including an Emmy, and was a primary contributor to two regional Edward R. Murrow awards.
