John began his broadcasting career at KAMR in Amarillo, Texas. After that, he worked for Austin’s local cable news channel, KVUE. He joined KTBC FOX 7 in 2006 as a sports anchor/ reporter. In 2017, he became the weekend sports anchor.
John reports during the week and anchors the sports desk on the weekends. Additionally, he regularly contributes to The Sports Office, the station’s broadcast and digital program.Having worked for the station for more than 20 years, he is one of the most well-known figures in Austin sports media, with a focus on high school and college coverage.
