Prior to working for WJLA, he served WBZ-TV, Boston as a news anchor and reporter for 8 years since joining in 2007. While serving WBZ,  he earned a DuPont, a Peabody and a National Emmy award for his broadcast on the Boston Marathon Bombing.

Additionally, he  gained Emmy awards for ‘Best anchor’ and consecutively four-time awardee for Best General Assignment Reporter. In addition, he provided coverage for hurricanes, parades for the Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots and blizzards. 

Further, he has served KNXV-TV, Phoenix as an anchor and reporter for 5 years since 2002. During his time at KNXV he broadcasted the Washington D.C. sniper case, Hurricane Rita and Hurricane Katrina. What’s more, his work uncovered a huge pit in the T.S.A. screening operation gained him a national Peabody Award.

Also, he began the Welcome Home Project which is a a group that served to acknowledge and thank returning Purple Heart Veterans.

To boot, he has served KCBS, Los Angeles as a reporter and an anchor for 5 years since 1997. Moreover, he has worked for WCCO News, Minneapolis as a reporter and anchor for 5 years since 1992. Elias has also served KOVR-TV, Birmingham as an investigative and general assignment reporter for 2 years since 1990.

Last but not least, he has worked for WBRC TV, Joplin as a general assignment reporter for 2  years since 1988. While he served at Birmingham and Joplin he broadcasted important stories such as the L.A. Riots, Oklahoma City bombing, the crash of TWA 800, and the Oakland Hills fire. Also, he provided coverage for hurricanes, earthquakes, floods and politics.

What’s more his work was acknowledged with with three George Foster Peabody Awards, an Alfred I. DuPont Award, a National Emmy, and 30 Regional Emmys. Too, he has worked as an Honorary Commander at Hanscom Air Force Base for 3 years. When he’s not working, he loves traveling, reading, golfing, searching for the perfect BBQ and working out.
