Joyce is excited t be living in Las Vegas and serving at KLAS-TV since she has been able to learn about all the different ways people give back to the community. She features many non-profits in her weekly “Acts of Kindness” segment and is inspired by viewers who update her on ways individuals and groups are making the area a better place to live and raise a family.
She remembers an opportunity she had in “Get out and Go,” which was a segment that tested her skills as a rock-crawler, ice fisher, dog musher, and snowmobiler only to mention a few.
Prior to joining KLAS TV, Kirsten served at “3TV’s Arizona’s Family” the #1 Independent in the country, as an anchor/reporter in 2006. While there she interviewed President Barack Obama and Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Additionally, she also had an opportunity to interview Senator John McCain, and Janet Napolitano. However, after four years, Joyce had to move back to Seattle to be closer to family. During this time, she was pregnant and worked as an anchor/reporter for Seattle’s KCPQ-TV.
Further, she freelanced with KING-TV, and Northwest Cable News, as well as Microsoft’s MSN. Later, her career once again pulled her and her family back to Nevada, where she happily exchanged nine months of rain for sunshine.
Joyce and her husband enjoy living in Southern Nevada with their two daughters and a ragdoll cat. The family also loves boating, traveling, wine tasting, finding new “happy hours” and discovering all the special things that make Nevada home.
