Earlier in his career, Wiener worked as a screenwriter for News at Ten and later worked for BBC South and one of Southampton’s evening newspapers before joining ITV. She joined ITV News in 1 and later became an internal affairs correspondent. From 1991 to 1994 she was European correspondent for a number of leading European stories and returned to the UK as Royal Correspondent in 2000.
With a long career in journalism and worldwide recognition, she was promoted to advertising producer and occasional reporter in 2001 and political correspondent in 2003. In the late 2000s Wiener moved back to Austria (2008-2009) and served as Australia correspondent for ITV News, regaining her old title on her return.
