Cownie returns to her familiar seat behind the anchor desk at KEYC. She first joined KEYC back in 1992 as the 10 pm news anchor. Her career went on to crisscross the country before she landed back in Mankato with her family 10 years ago where she was the anchor of KEYC This Midday. Having covered nights and mid-days, she is anxious now to lend her talents in the morning!
Her love of the region shines through in all she does not only in her role delivering the news to southern Minnesota and northern Iowa but in her community endeavors as well. Lisa serves as a strategic writer for the nonprofit MRCI. She is also an active volunteer including at her children’s schools and through other local organizations such as Greater Mankato Rotary, Lasting Imprint, Greater Mankato Growth, and Dream Closet. She also serves as an adjunct professor in the Communications Department at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and is the Editor of Connect Business Magazine.
