Guyton joined the 13abc team in 2002 as a part-timer coz she still worked at the University. However, She is now a full-time anchor and reporter since a great opportunity came up in December 2004.

Guyton schooled at Maumee Valley Country Day School and successfully completed with excellent performance. Further, she went to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and earned a degree in communications and a minor in political science. Also, she went to further her studies at the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism and did various courses.

Guyton started her television career at WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. She stayed in Erie for eight years anchoring news and then moved to Toledo and joined the WNWO-TV team. She started as a morning anchor before becoming the main anchor. Lissa did a special project for The City of Toledo named “It’s Reigning Frogs.” which was a public art display. The project brought thousands of thousands from the community to downtown Toledo with the aim of raising funds for local charities. In fact, the amount raised was over $150,000 which excited Guytonsince she was proud to be a participant.

Lissa joined the University of Findlay as the director of equine business development after the special project was accomplished. Here, she raised money and promoted their national championship equestrian programs which she really enjoyed.

Lissa developed a broadcasting passion at the age of five years and has now anchored and reported for over three decades. She has most enjoyed working in the Toledo area since most of her family members reside here, in fact up to four generations of her family.

Guyton’s hobbies include horse riding, tennis as well as skiing. Lissa competes with her horse at shows around the region frequently. Guyton competed at the national finals horse shows in Harrisburg, PA, and Washington, DC. in 2004 and 2005 with her horse. Lissa was graded in the top ten in the United States together with her horse. Besides, she is on the board of directors of various charities like the YMCA Camp Storer and the American Cancer Society.
