Michaels’s first TV Meteorology job was in Wausau, WI, followed by stops in Grand Rapids, MI, Fort Myers, FL, Tampa, FL, and Cedar Rapids, IA. He has hence worked across the country on WeatherNation. He is also a game-day Meteorologist for the Minnesota Twins.
Mace’s inspiration to become a meteorologist was a result of having grown up in rural Central Minnesota where all four seasons are well represented, often to the extreme! He had a lot of curiosity to understand the changes, and intrigue to try and figure out why the weather behaved as it did, and hence this drove him to an interest in Meteorology. Additionally, he is the co-proprietor of two Radio stations, including Severe Radio and 997MAX FM.

“Severe weather on our wedding day. Our groomsman wanted to chase storms! The wind was strong enough to uproot trees in town and rip shingles off the roof of the church. Also, a blizzard when I was 4 years old. The snow drifted over the windows of our house and to the top of the kitchen door. Plus Dad stayed home from work!” stated Mace
Mace loves traveling with his wife, Kim. During downtime, he loves playing with their Yorkies, Eddie and Mollie, and our kitty Ellie. Watching sports too, especially Twins baseball and UND Fighting Sioux hockey.
